Hearthstone Manor’s independent living facilities include 40 Garden Apartments and 14 cottages at its South Lebanon Township, Lebanon County, location, and 16 cottages at its Mount Joy, Lancaster County, location.

 

The Garden Apartments
The Garden Apartments feature one- and two-bedroom units of exceptional size and design. There are 20 ground-floor apartments and 20 second-floor apartments. The ground-floor apartments are completely handicapped-accessible. All second floor apartments have some exterior and some interior steps; there are chair lifts for the interior steps.  Each apartment features:

• A full kitchen with an apartment-size refrigerator/freezer,
  a dishwasher, a stove, a disposal, and oak cabinets;
• A washer and dryer in the unit;
• A full bathroom with a handicapped-accessible shower,
  a commode, a sink, and oak cabinets (two-bedroom units also have powder rooms);
• Wall-to-wall carpeting in all living areas except the kitchen and bathrooms, which have sheet vinyl;
• Blinds on all windows;
• Front and back porches, or decks for 2nd-floor units; and,
• Individually-controlled heating and air-conditioning.

 

The Garden Apartments are rental units managed by Hearthstone Manor.

 

The Cottages
The cottages are condominiums.  Residents buy their cottages and retain their equity and any appreciation in the value of the unit.  The Hearthstone Manors manage the condominium associations, which maintain the grounds and the exteriors of the cottages.

 

There are several different floor plans for the cottages, but all have two bedrooms, full kitchens, full, handicapped-accessible bathrooms, powder rooms, and one- or two-car garages.  Many of the cottage owners have personalized their homes with gas fireplaces, screened porches, sunrooms, decks, full basements, etc.  The cottages are usually listed with local realtors when a sale is contemplated.
